Hong Kong -- (ReleaseWire) -- 01/14/2014 --Waldmann Asset Management hosted its fourth New Directions: The Next Step in Your Career event for women.

There were over 100 attendees at the event which provided guidance and coaching for women who have "off-ramped" and are looking to make a successful transition back into the workforce. The speakers and panelists gave advice on preparing a career strategy and brought them up to speed on changes in the industry while they were out. The event gave the attendees an opportunity to network with other women who had off-ramped as well as meet with Waldmann Asset Management managers.

Monica Liang, HR Director at Waldmann Asset Management and an adjunct professor was the day's keynote speaker. "I congratulate my company for its New Directions program. This initiative is important and a great segue for women who are considering returning to work after being absent for a period of time." Liang continues, "Today's program allowed women an opportunity to ask questions and address concerns and build a plan of action for re-entering the workforce."

Waldmann Asset Management launched its first New Directions event in Hong Kong. The Office of Global Leadership and Diversity along with Experienced Hired Recruiting at the firm worked together to put the program in place.

"Each of our events is targeted to an audience based on feedback. For this event, we wanted to create a workshop or resource environment for women who are at the very beginning stages of "on-ramping," said Gail Tsui, Managing Director at Waldmann Asset Management. "These are the women who are ready to return to work, but still need guidance on how to prepare, what steps to take and what resources are available to them”.
