With 1.6 to 2 million Americans currently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, the day seeks to bring awareness to this commonly misunderstood disease. Although it is often thought by many as 'just another type of arthritis', rheumatoid arthritis (or RA), is an autoimmune disease that causes chronic, systemic inflammation of tissues and organs, especially flexible joints.
