Diabetes Website Features Scientific Study That Proves Type 2 Diabetes Can Be Reversed in 8 Weeks or Less

Pompano Beach, FL -- (ReleaseWire) -- 02/13/2014 --In a study published by the National Institutes of Health, E.L. Lim et al, were able to prove the hypothesis that “both beta cell failure and insulin resistance can be reversed by dietary restriction of energy intake.” In eight weeks, the results were dramatic and entirely proved their hypothesis.

The scientists studied 11 people with diabetes and compared them to a control group. Using sophisticated testing including MRI imaging, they measured the diabetics’ blood sugar and insulin responses, cholesterol levels and fat in the pancreas and liver before and after dietary changes. They did this at weeks 1,4, and 8.

Fat deposits in the pancreas and liver were gone. Blood sugars normalized after week 1, triglycerides dropped by almost half after week 1 and reduced ten-fold after week 8. The study subjects became more insulin sensitive.

All evidence of diabetes was gone after 8 weeks.

The study’s conclusion was “Normalization of both beta cell function and hepatic insulin sensitivity in type 2 diabetes was achieved by dietary energy restriction alone. This was associated with decreased pancreatic and liver triacylglycerol stores. The abnormalities underlying type 2 diabetes are reversible by reducing dietary energy intake.” - http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21656330 (accessed February 8, 2014)

The World Health Organization calls diabetes a “slow motion catastrophe.”

“Right now we’re having a diabetes epidemic,” said American Diabetes Association President for health and education Geralyn Spollett, an associate nursing Professor at Yale University’s Diabetes Center.

United Healthcare estimates that over the next decade the U.S. alone will spend $3.4 TRILLION in costs related to diabetes. In an excellent expose, The Huffington Post said “The Toxic Triad of Big Farming, Big Food and Big Pharma profits from creating a nation of sick and fat citizens.”

This study describes simple dietary changes that completely eliminate all evidence of diabetes.

One conclusion that can be drawn is that by using these same dietary guidelines prior to a diabetes diagnosis, it may be possible to avoid diabetes entirely.
