San Diego, CA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 02/13/2014 --According to a recent report, a gender gap still exists when it comes to the salaries of male versus female web developers.

Digital marketing agency Moz released the results of their 2014 Industry Survey (http://moz.com/blog/online-marketing-salaries), for which they collected data from over 3,700 marketers spanning more than 80 countries worldwide. Their data reveal that on average "women earned more than $10,000 less in salary than their average counterparts."

As a way to highlight the work of accomplished female web developers, Mod Girl Marketing, a woman-owned digital marketing and web development company, posted a blog identifying eight top female web professionals working to balance what is currently a male-dominated industry.

Despite the male dominance in web design, Mod Girl points out that roughly 60 percent of graphic designers are women. However, the field of website design and management often involves both front-end design and back-end programming.
