It will let you know when your tax return has been received as well as when your refund has been approved. When it says your return has been received, this means your return is being processed. Once it has been approved, you should receive your refund within 21 days.

To be sure that you get your refund as fast as possible it is suggested that you e-file your taxes instead of paper filing. Use software such as TurboTax Online. TurboTax checks your return for accuracy before it goes to the IRS and provides you with the largest possible refund.
