This series chronicles the origins and history of DJing, MCing, B-Boying (aka break dancing), Graffiti, and Knowledge the five elements of Hip Hop culture.

Many books have been written about Hip Hop, but very few of them areHip Hop books for children, even fewer allow them to learn the origins and history of Hip Hop. Under his publishing company, 70 West Press, Lamont has written and self-published this five book series for children aged 8 and older. The books are easy to read and contain vintage photos of very important figures in Hip Hop history. Unlike other childrens books written about Hip Hop, these books are not cartoon-like. Each book discusses the important people and events that had influences on creating each element of Hip Hop, but does it in a way that is easy for younger children to read.
