Los Angeles, CA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 03/19/2014 --"Ashes" is a short film about two brothers searching a post-apocalyptic wasteland for antibiotics to save their sister who's dying from tuberculosis. Ashes will be screening at Palm Springs International Shorts Fest.

"Ashes" is only the beginning. Every person involved in this production is passionate, hard-working, and talented. These are people who possess the potential to do great things in the film and television industry. A little boost here to help jump-start their careers could be all they need to get moving in the right direction.

The film’s original budget of $6,000 is stretched far beyond its breaking point. In order for the film to screen at Palm Springs International Shorts Fest, LA Shorts, and beyond they need to do a few more things to complete "Ashes".

1. The team needs to hire a Colorist. This will cost us at least $1,000. Color Grading is what separates high quality imaging from low quality imaging. They want "Ashes" to be at it's full glory when it is displayed on the big screen.
2. They need to hire a Visual Effects Artist (VFX). There are some minor visual effects in Ashes that need to be done by an experienced artist so they are seamless.
3. They also need to hire musicians to record the music for the film. Ed Allmond, the composer, is working diligently to create the music for "Ashes". Once complete, it will need to be recorded for highest possible quality.

This campaign will receive all funds raised even if it does not reach its goal of $2,000. Funding duration: March 12, 2014 - April 06, 2014 (11:59pm PT).
