Phoenix, AZ -- (ReleaseWire) -- 03/20/2014 --Shelter Island (Remix) feat. Euge Groove is a fresh approach to the title track from his successful 2013 release Shelter Island. The melodic, polished and almost ethereal tune has periodic yields to earthy, smooth Sax playing by Euge creating an intoxicating mix of talent and style.

Harris is a relative newcomer to the Contemporary Jazz but not to music. His father, Calvin Harris, was an engineer for the famous Motown record label and he spent many days in the studio with him. He is also a highly sought after Sound Engineer(Lenny Kravitz and Earth,Wind and Fire. Having long dreamed of writing and producing his own music, he's making a splash with Shelter Island. The project has already produced two Billboard charting hits Smooth feat. Elan Trotman and By the Bay. His debut CD Inside Out rode the charts for months. Says Harris "music is my way of communicating and it feels good to know that people are enjoying what I have to say musically".

Remixes are fairly common in other genres like Pop and Hip-Hop so the Shelter Island Remix is a bit of an eyebrow raiser. Harris seems unfazed. "Music is such a vehicle for creativity! There is always another perspective, another approach to an existing work". And Euge Groove? " As I was putting the remix together in my head I could hear a sax solo. When I thought of who would best capture it, Euge was at the top of a short list. I was convinced that he was just what the song needed. I admire him and his talent and feel he's at the top of the game. I was 'thrilled' when he agreed. I knew it would be a hit ".

Harris is right. Two days after it's release it landed in rotation on 23 stations including Sirius XM 'Watercolors' and is currently in the top 15 songs on Billboard's Smooth Jazz chart. The music is available at iTunes.com, amazon.com and www.calharrisjr.com.

About Cal Harris Jr.
Cal Harris Jr.’s upbringing in Los Angeles was not a typical one. His earliest exposure to music took place literally in the company of legends. As the son of Grammy-nominated sound engineer Calvin Harris, Cal Harris Jr. grew up wandering the halls of the renowned Motown Studios in Los Angeles. In fact, one of his fondest childhood memories was a trip to the candy store with Melvin Franklin of the Temptations—a treat he would appreciate even more as an adult. It was within this environment that Harris would develop a love affair with music…and a well-groomed talent.
