April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. In recognition of this, MMA Academy a KravMaga Worldwide (KMW) Official Training Center as well as KMW centers across the globe are offering rape prevention seminars for women as a service to the community. Nationally certified self-defense instructors and defensive tactics experts will be available to answer questions and give advice to the general public on how to prevent and survive a violent encounter!

San Diego, CA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 04/07/2014 --On April 12, 2014, the KravMaga Worldwide Training Center in San Diego will be conducting self-defense seminar fundraisers for all women ages 16 and older. This event will be held from 12:00PM – 3:00PM at MMA Academy Training Center, 3962 Sorrento Valley Blvd, San Diego, CA 92121on the 12th. Cost is $25.00 and proceeds will be donated to educate residents of San Diego County’s shelters. This event is co-sponsored by San Diego Police Department.

According to the latest statistics the crime of rape has increase 27% in San Diego and the U.S. Department of Justice reports more than 2.5 million women experience violence annually. Statistics also show that every 90 seconds a woman is raped in America.

Greater San Diego needs community involvement and support. We all have to work together to raise awareness and promote strong, alert, confident and healthy attitudes and behaviors to end America’s sexual assault epidemic. The KravMaga Worldwide Training Center will make this training available to all women in the community who wish to possess the skills needed to prevent or survive a violent assault.

Michael and Anne Marie Mihalkanin, nationally recognized KravMaga Worldwide Instructors will be conducting this empowering course. This team has trained thousands of students around the nation. They teach civilians, military and the men and women of law enforcement how to protect themselves and go home safely.

Learning self-defense is not just learning to kick and punch an attacker. Self-defense begins with not thinking of oneself as a victim. Attackers choose their victims the way predators choose their prey. They always go after the weak, isolated, young or old because they are an easy target. If you look strong, alert and healthy, you have a much better chance of avoiding an attack. Our expert instructors will teach women the self-confidence and skills required to AVOID BECOMING A VICTIM.
