Yamabe & Horn Engineering Receives 2014 Small Project of the Year Award

Fresno branch of the ASCE also honors company founder Gary Horn, capping momentous year of successes for company, Yamabe & Horn reports

Soledad, CA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 06/13/2014 --Civil engineering and land surveying firm Yamabe & Horn Engineering received the 2014 Small Project of the Year award from the Fresno branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the company reports. Yamabe & Horn provided engineering services which allowed Grundfos, a major industrial pump manufacturer based in Fresno, to greatly cut its water consumption levels. The Yamabe & Horn-designed retention ponds, water-collection systems, and other enhancements have helped Grundfos lower its water usage by over 80%, and it now reclaims and reuses large quantities of water that would have previously gone to waste entirely.

"We're proud to accept this ASCE award commending our work on the Grundfos water conservation project," company representative Ryan Rabbon said, "and it serves as a fitting capstone on what has been a terrific year for us here at Yamabe & Horn." Providing civil engineering and land surveying services throughout the Central Valley and Coast regions, Yamabe & Horn has grown to become one of the largest such specialists in the area, a distinction that has been pointed out in the Fresno Business Journal. The company has added a number of registered engineers to its staff in recent months and plans to continue expanding so as to better meet the demand for its services.

"In addition to this prestigious award for the company's work on the Grundfos project," Rabbon continued, "Y & H founder Gary Horn was recognized as the Outstanding Civil Engineer in Private Practice at the ASCE Fresno awards banquet," Rabbon continued, "which is a flattering reflection of the quality of work he and the company have been doing." Founded in 1979, Yamabe & Horn has been headquartered in Fresno ever since. The company opened a new satellite office in May of this year as a way of better serving the increasing number of Central Coast clients it has been doing work for and hopes to further augment its service area and capabilities in the near future.

The latest award from the Fresno branch of the ASCE is one of many Y and H ENGR has received over its decades in business. The company continues to be one of the busiest and most-utilized in the state, having recently finished work on several bridge, sidewalk design, and street widening projects. Its work on the reconstruction of Front Street in Soledad, where its new satellite office is located, was especially successful, exceeding the hopes and expectations of the interested parties in several respects, and included close and fruitful collaboration with impacted businesses. Well-established as a leader in the Central Valley engineering community, the company set out years ago to become a similar force for Central Coast engineering and finds itself well along the way to that goal at the present time.
