Seattle, WA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 06/23/2014 --The parenting website Our Family Fun Night has announced Scott Tucker’s plans to help keep kids busy and active while parents work this summer. Chef Scott Tucker is in the midst of organizing a summer youth day camp which will allow children to stay active and give them something to do throughout the summer season. The website Our Family Fun Night has announced Scott Tuckers plans to help keep kids busy and active, while parents work.

“Days will be filled with games, sports, arts and crafts, trips, celebrations, and a talent show,” said Tucker. “There will even be a “cooking class” to help teach kids who are interested in learning how to cook.”

Registration ends in the beginning of July. All registrations and trip sign-ups will take place online. The fee is $185.00 plus trip costs. Children must be between 6 and 11 years of age at time of registration, and proof of age may be required. The 8-week camp will commence at the beginning of July and end on August 16.“Days will be filled with games, sports, arts and crafts, trips, celebrations, and a talent show,” said Tucker. “There will even be a “cooking class” to help teach kids who are interested in learning how to cook.”

“This is a great idea,” says Our Family Fun Night contributor Jeremy Potions. “Kids, when bored and unattended, might be stuck inside the house all summer or even worse get into trouble. A summer camp with Tucker’s focus on cooking will keep kids active, teach them about healthy habits, and let their parents have peace of mind during the summer.”

Tucker’s summer day youth camp was formed to offer weekday summer adventures for children going into kindergarten through eighth grade. The day camp provides families with the security of knowing that their children are in a well-supervised, safe, caring, and nurturing setting, while being introduced to new experiences, having fun, making new friends and developing new skills

“The “learn to cook” part of the program will include cooking delicious and nutritious food as the kids make their own snacks and lunches using a daily secret ingredient,” says Tucker. “This part of the camp will also focus on basic kitchen skills including safe knife handling, measuring, mixing, and sautéing. As an added bonus, kids will take a field trip to visit a downtown restaurant to see what happens behind the scenes in a professional kitchen.”
