Philadelphia, PA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 06/25/2014 --To celebrate the World Cup, Philadelphia’s top craft beer bar, City Tap House (The Radian Balcony, 3925 Walnut Street, 215-662-0105), will offer an exciting line-up of international craft beers and culturally-inspired foods during key matches throughout the tournament. During all games, the premier University City restaurant will serve drafts from two of the last World Cup’s top finishing nations, Germany (Carlsberg Lager) and Spain (Estrella Lager) will be available for just $5 each. Other specials will vary depending on the countries competing on the pitch.

“The World Cup is a terrific excuse for us to get to know some excellent beers from around the world, all while enjoying the incredible competitive spirit of the game,” says Managing Partner Andy Farrell, who heads the city’s largest 60-tap beer program at City Tap House. “From pint specials during all matches to themed beer and food pairings, flights from participating countries to a finale party to remember, we love the World Cup and look forward to celebrating it in a big way.”

In addition to the Carlsberg and Estrella specials, certain matches will feature beers and foods inspired by the competing countries. All beers available on draught will range in price from $6 to $10; bottles and flights will also be available (flights are $15 each for three beers.)

As the tournament moves from the Group Stage into Quarterfinals, on Saturday, July 5, City Tap House will invite DJ Olufemi Olatunji, a.k.a. Mr. Femstar, to host his WorldTown International Music Party on the balcony. The lively brunch party and game watch event will precede more country-inspired specials, likely to include Italy and Germany, depending on which teams move on to the Quarterfinals. Then, during the Final Match on Sunday, July 13, the Philly restaurant will host a ticketed VIP Buffet featuring an open bar loaded with international craft beers – and of course, the final game on every screen in the house. More details will be available as the event gets closer; interested guests should contact Jessica McGarvey at jmcgarvey@publichouseusa.com for more information or to reserve a spot.
