St. Petersburg, FL -- (ReleaseWire) -- 07/14/2014 --Lisa Trunzo is the founder of Hannah's Homeless, Inc. Hannah's Homeless was first officially registered as a non-profit two years ago. Hannah is the name of Lisa’s daughter that she had 14 years ago when she was homeless. Lisa chose to give her up for adoption because it was the right thing to do for her. Lisa has never forgotten Hannah and has carried that grief with her for a long time. In 2006, Lisa began to feed homeless people in St. Pete and quickly grew passionate about helping homeless people. Then in 2012, all contact with Hannah's adopted family was completely cut off. Initially, Lisa was devastated, but decided to turn her grief into something positive.

Lisa decided to turn her passion of helping homeless people into a real, legitimate, non-profit and name it Hannah's Homeless in her honor. Since then, they've grown in ways Lisa could have never foreseen. They started from Lisa’s living room and used a hot and muggy storage unit to store and sort donations. Now they have a wonderful office/storage space in a building right downtown.

At present, Lisa’s goal is to open a drop-in center to provide a place for the homeless community to come and get food, clean clothes and a shower, meet with a counselor to get connected with VA services or whatever they made need, and to have health screenings. They've already arranged some funds, but need roughly $10,000 more to get their drop-in doors open. This money will go with their current funds towards getting into their new building and getting the build-out done. This includes shower rooms and laundry set-ups. They may also need to build out the office spaces with partitions.
