Los Angeles, CA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 07/15/2014 --One of the most popular pianists on the contemporary instrumental scene, Jim Wilson returns with two new albums: “My Mother’s Son” and “Jim Wilson: The Solo Piano Collection”.

The first CD is “My Mother’s Son” -- a tribute not just to his Mom – whom he lost a couple of years ago, but to Moms everywhere. It will feature 2 versions of the new title cut, as well as a collection of Jim’s Mom’s favorite songs from his first 7 CDs. The record features Jim’s critically-acclaimed "film score meets folk/pop" signature sound – his unique piano style combined with his eclectic blend of instrumentation.

The second CD is Jim’s soon-to-be-released debut “Solo Piano Collection” recording, and will be a compilation of long-requested, piano-only versions of the most popular songs from his first 7 CDs.

Sometimes referred to as "melodic tone poems," Wilson's music has been described as "a magical carpet ride of melodic beauty" by music legend Carole King and as making "a classy, artistic statement" by master tunesmith Burt Bacharach.

In the indie spirit of this new era of crowd-funded projects, Jim has started a Kickstarter campaign for anyone who would like to participate in bringing this dream to life. Though the recording, video & promo budget for his 2 new CDs is much higher, Jim set a pledge target of $15,000. Any amount raised above that target will go toward promotions / helping my music reach a wider audience.
