Producer, Director & Writer Oben Tabi Looks to Raise $85,000 via Indiegogo for the Making of His Upcoming Screen Play 'It Is Wat It Is'

This is an urban dramatic and comedic thriller based on true events surrounding a black male in Berlin, who struggles to be there for his son and for himself.

 

Berlin, Germany -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/01/2014 -- ‘It Is Wat It Is’ is an inner city drama that unveil a series of thrilling events surrounding the struggles of a group of black immigrants in Berlin. Oben Tabi aka the Black lion is the Producer and writer of this screen play titled ‘It Is Wat It Is’ . This screenplay is based on true events, he has witnessed or have been told, during the13yrs he has been living in Berlin-Germany. His work as a performer, and an activist, gave him the experience and knowledge to write on these subjects in this screenplay.

‘It Is Wat It Is’ is the chance for people to see what it is like being a person of color living and growing up in Berlin. A chance to see black people who have immigrated and have found themselves in interesting situations. This is a story about dreams, urban survival, love, sacrifice, regret, forgiveness, and discovering the true nature of people in time of crisis.

This screenplay has been in the making since November 2012. Considering the fact that, Oben Tabi has encountered difficulties with other directors and investors who like the script, but would like to change the script or the cast to depict the typical stereotypes of Black Culture already being portrayed in German media. Oben is seeking help to finish making this film because he doesn't want to compromise the script and some of the cast.

The funding goal of $85,000 will cover the cost for rented production equipment, production design, costumes/wardrobe, transportation, location fees, special effects, and much more.

This campaign will receive all funds raised even if it does not reach its goal. Funding duration: February 24, 2014 - April 25, 2014 (11:59pm PT).
