Marietta, GA -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/17/2014 -- Ragan Whiteside is a Contemporary Jazz/Soul flutist, vocalist and songwriter. Her passion for music has taken her down many roads, from musical theater to classical (solo and orchestral), but the one thing that has been constant throughout is her love for a soulful, funky, groove . Fast or slow, subtle or in the face, a good groove sets the stage for feel-good music. Ragan’s love for the groove led to her first album, Class Axe (2007), 1st place at the Capital Jazz New Artist Competition, and her second album, Evolve (2012). Both albums were very well received, with Evolve spending over 10 weeks on the Jazz Top 20 Billboard Radio chart. 

On her new project Quantum Drive, Ragan is taking the groove to the next level. She has teamed up once again with Producer/Engineer/Arranger Dennis Johnson and producer/Arranger/Keyboardist Bob Baldwin to create music that will put listeners in a good mood and keep them there. Quantum Drive will also feature a few special guests, including fellow jazz flutist Althea Rene.
