William Peace University Names Kathleen A. Monroe Assistant Director of Career Services

Four-Year Baccalaureate University Adds Staff Member To Assist Students With Career Exploration

 

Raleigh, NC -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/23/2011 -- William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced that Kathleen A. Monroe has been named assistant director of career services, where she will be responsible for assisting students with career exploration, intern possibilities and searches for employment or graduate school opportunities. With more than four years of higher education experience, Monroe will teach students how to network, articulate their strengths during interviews, write resumes and manage conflict in the workplace.

Other duties will include visiting internship sites to strengthen their partnership with William Peace University, developing relationships with new sites to offer more opportunities to students, hosting job fairs for students and planning events such as Career Connections, a networking activity.

- Monroe earned a Bachelor of Science in business from Indiana University in Fort Wayne and a Master of Education in student personnel administration in higher education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

- She is a member of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) and the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) and recently joined the Triangle Society for Human Resource Management (TSHRM).

- A native of Fort Wayne, Monroe resides in north Raleigh with two adopted dogs.
