William Peace University Hosts Academic WorldQuest Event Feb. 25

Four-Year Baccalaureate University Sponsors Half-Day Knowledge Competition For High School Students Presented By International Affairs Council Of North Carolina

 

Raleigh, NC - (SBWIRE) -- 02/07/2012 -- William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced that it is hosting Academic WorldQuest, an action-packed competition to promote knowledge about geography, international history and world affairs, on campus Saturday, Feb. 25 from 9 a.m. through 1 p.m. Presented by the International Affairs Council of North Carolina, and supported by Leigh Wallace Hines, a William Peace University student interning with the group, Academic WorldQuest will involve teams of four high school contestants and one alternate playing 10 rounds of 10 questions each on worldwide affairs, geography and cultures. Answers will be submitted by the teams, not individuals, and teams will have 60 seconds to answer each question. Answer sheets will be collected at the end of each round, and the trophy goes to the team with the highest total points for the 10 rounds.

Those interested in participating in the event must RSVP by Jan. 15 with information on the name of high school, number of teams, contact person and contact person’s address, phone, fax and email address sent to Todd Culpepper, executive director of the International Affairs Council, at tculpepper@iacnc.org.
