Tabanan, Bali -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/27/2012 -- Alila Villas Soori will be the momentary residence of Los Angeles artist Sandow Birk, from where he will also be presenting his inspirational artworks as well as private art classes for guests staying in these luxury villas in Bali, from March 17 to April 2.

Sandow Birk is a graduate of the Otis/Parson's Art Institute whose work has dealt with contemporary life in its entirety. Past themes have included inner city violence, graffiti, various political issues, war, and prisons, surfing, and skateboarding.

Sandow is the recipient of many awards including a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Fulbright scholarship to Brazil. Recent projects have dealt with the war in Iraq and the Constitution of the United States.

The Artist in Residence program will feature Sandow’s work for over four weeks throughout these luxury villas. Bali’s exotic environs encircling the resort will give an opportunity for the artist to be inspired and in return, create fresh original artworks from his observations and experiences.

Resort guests are welcome to interrelate with Sandow as he is busy at his work, to gain insights on the creative mind behind the art and his masterpieces in-the-making. The artist may be found in his dedicated artist’s room provided by Alila Villas Soori, but he will also be easily found searching for artistic inspiration at various beautiful corners throughout the resort.

Sandow will be showcasing his collection as well as his fresh artworks at the resort. Interested guests are welcome to observe and engage, and furthermore may also sign up for private classes at USD 100++ / 90 minutes class.
