New Spectroradiometer from Gamma Scientific Is Optimized for Fluorescence Testing

Bi-Spectral Spectroradiometer Tests LED Phosphor Composition, Fluorescent and Reflective Materials to Maximize Performance for Manufacturers

San Diego, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/02/2012 -- Gamma Scientific has developed a new spectroradiometer that is configured to quickly obtain detailed fluorescence data for any fluorescent or reflective material, including LED phosphors.

The Bi-Spectral Fluorescence Spectroradiometer takes precise measurements of both the transmitted and reflected spectrum of materials when illuminated by monochromatic light utilizing a pair of Gamma Scientific’s RadOMA series spectroradiometers. The system is able to simultaneously measure spectral reflectance, spectral transmittance and absorption while utilizing dual, calibrated integrating spheres to measure total flux. A single sphere configuration is also available.

Maximizing Performance and Lowering Costs for LED Phosphor Manufacturers

Gamma Scientific’s Bi-Spectral Spectroradiometer provides comprehensive fluorescence data for testing LED phosphor composition to maximize performance and lower costs for manufacturers. The system calculates which phosphor samples have the highest transmission, reflection and absorption. It also determines the exact wavelengths that fluoresce most intensely and the spectrum of fluorescing light at any excitation wavelength.

Additional Applications for Any Fluorescent or Reflective Material

With the ability to take detailed measurements for any fluorescent or reflective material, the Bi-Spectral Fluorescence Spectroradiometer is also designed to test fluorescent bulbs, papers, paints, dyes, films and fabrics. In addition, the system can be used for biological and scientific fluorescence measurement of organic compounds, cellular organisms, biological samples and mineral samples.

Data Analysis and Output

Fluorescence data produced by the spectroradiometer characterizes the absorption, reflection and transmission of samples. The data is graphed in 3D for clear visualization of where the samples fluoresce, and the software can be used to view, analyze and compare samples. Data is easily exported to Excel and other data analysis programs.
