Victoria, BC -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/22/2012 -- Designer Dann Foley aka “Designer DANN” from Showtime’s Real L Word has taken on another spectacular, yet unusual home. He’s remodeling a 12,000 sq. ft home originally built by the late famous architect, Francis Rattenbury.
The new homeowners, who are philanthropists, have had DANN design other homes for them but this one is very special to them. They had a vision to keep the original woodwork and floor colors true to Rattenbury’s vision, “Maintaining the original integrity of the architectural design and detailing has been of paramount importance since the early stages of design,” said Foley. “My clients know I’ll stand on my head to please them.”
The house will be a showcase for guests to enjoy during charity events, all while serving as the primary residence for the owners. Each room will be designed for daily use, and bring together both comfort and luxury. The architecture itself and the sublime views require traditional style, but with DANN’s guidance they are seeking a more continental flair. In true DANN style, there will be a mix of flavors, running the gambit from European antiques, to Asian touches, to American and Canadian craftsmen and artists. The remodel will be anchored with custom upholstery and a plethora of fabrics blended together in varietals of pattern, texture and thread.
