Passenger Cars Subjugating the Brazilian Automobile Industry

Passenger cars dominate in Brazil with sales forecasted to grow at a CAGR of around 7% during 2011-15, says RNCOS.

Noida, UP -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/16/2012 -- With a total production of more than 2.5 Million Units in 2011, Brazil represents one of the largest producers of passenger cars worldwide. The country’s passenger car production has been continuously gaining advantage from its growing internal demand and popularity of Brazil’s compact cars in overseas markets. However, the production levels have been declining due to inappropriate production proportion of flex fuel passenger cars and other conventional fuel-driven cars.

However, demand for passenger cars is highly cyclical. The demand is generally correlated with consumption trends among private sector players. Since 2005, stabilization of inflation and exchange rate has been spurring the development of new financing options, which combined with a strong recovery in real incomes, has enlarged the market for car purchases. Further, according to a recent report by RNCOS, “Brazil Automobile Forecast to 2014”, stable long-term loan interest rate enabled Brazilians to go for cars easily; which thereby, propelled car sales to touch 2.65 Million Units in 2011.

As obvious, passenger car registration also showed similar trend as that of sales during the past few years. However, an inequality has been witnessed in the type of passenger car registration in Brazil. Flex fuel passenger cars sales picked up sharply in 2004 and continued to rise tremendously thereafter.

Our report also studies in detail the other automobile segments, like light commercial vehicles, buses, trucks, and agri-machinery. On analyzing, we found that southeast region of the country dominates in terms of automobile fleet and new vehicle registrations. São Paulo is the leading state in the region with the maximum number of vehicles registration. A further analysis of latest trends and drivers revealed the way in which electric and flex-fuel vehicles, automobile financing, and rising purchasing power are propelling the automobile industry. Flex-fuel vehicle is the most accepted segment among Brazilians due to its multi-choice of refueling system. However, on the back of supportive government regulations on biofuel usage, the sales of flex-fuel vehicles have been registering blistering growth during the past few years.

Our report also includes detailed information about import and exports of various types of vehicles. Our comprehensive research covers various aspects of the Brazilian automobile industry, including auto components and tyre industry. The in-depth study also includes the profiles of major players present in the industry. Overall, it aims at providing an unbiased picture of the Brazilian automobile market to clients.
