Pune, Maharashtra -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/18/2010 -- Director Ashok Kamle, one of the most critically acclaimed directors of Maharashtra spoke about his forthcoming movie “Krantiveer Rajguru” which throws light on the great freedom fighter Shivram Hari Rajguru, born and brought up in Pune.

The film is a saga of the trials and tribulations of the greatest martyr of pre-independence era who laid down his life for the noble cause of India’s freedom. The movie reflects the life of patriot Rajguru and his struggle for India’s independence. The character of Rajguru has been portrayed intensely keeping in mind that no other movie has shown Rajguru as an important part of the freedom movement.

The movie talks about the small town boy from Khed in Pune fondly called Bapusaheb. The story unfolds events during Shivram’s 22years of short life span depicting his early childhood patriotic influences, volcanic hatred nurtures against the British due to their tyrannical acts committed on the poor villagers. These atrocities molded Rajguru into a revolutionary who gave away his prime youth at the altar of the nation.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Kamle said, “No film maker has brought into light the efforts put in by Rajguru towards our freedom movement and through this movie I wish to bring his hard work to the fore front.” Further he added, “This movie will pay homage to his pain and atrocities borne by him during the freedom movement.”

Ashok Kamle has an experience of over 25 years in the showbiz industry and has 18 films to his credit. His most successful movie Painjan- a multi-starrer and high budget movie supported by Dada Kondke movie has bagged many awards and has been one of the most successful movies in Maharashtra. Swami and Sitam are some of the other movies which were made by Mr. Ashok Kamle in association with Mrs Jaya Chakravarthy, mother of actress Hema Malini.
