The three day National Conference on Recent Global Developments inManagement & Information Technology : Prospects and Perspectives held at SMS. The proceeding of the Conference were conducted in six technical sessions over the last three days in which galaxy of intellectuals from across the country participated. Speaking on theoccasion Dr. V. S. R. Krishnaiya, Senior Director, NIC, New Delhi said that E-Commerce is a unique experiment of Information Technology. He reiterated that E-Commerce is beneficial for the common man as it will help change the way public administration performs its task on the inaugural day Prof. R. K. Singh, Sriram College of Commerce,New Delhi emphasised on the proper dissemination of information to the right person within right time for right purpose.

Prof. Anand Prakash, University of Delhi stated that organizations that are investing in people and focus on their core value systems are more successful.

In the second technical session, Prof. P. R. Agrawal, Head of Department, Department of Humanities, MNNIT, Allahabad stressed on the prudent management of foreign debt and stated that external commercial borrowings have formed a considerable part of India's balance of payment in the recent past. Prof. Sudhir Sharan, Director, SMS, Lucknow also emphasized on the relevance of technology and its effective management as a key for economic growth and prosperity of the nation.

Leading Business School of the country, School of Management Sciences (SMS) has been conferred upon with two prestigious international awards at the 4th World HRD Congress held in Mumbai recently. The Prime Minister of Bhutan, Hon'ble Jigme Y Thingle, presented the 'Outstanding Business School (North)' and 'Innovative Business School in Academic-Industry Interface' awards. On behalf of the SMS Group of Institutions, the C.E.O., Mr. Sharad Singh and the Director of SMS-Lucknow, Prof. Sudhir Sharan received the above awards amongst a galaxy of corporate leaders, internationally acclaimed professionals and representatives of over two thousand B-Schools of the country including ISB-Hyderabad, IIMAhmedabad,MDI-Gurgaon, IMT-Ghaziabad, JBIMS-Mumbai, XLRI-Jamshedpur and XIMBhubaneshwar, to name a few. These awards have been instituted by Dainik Bhaskar and DNA.On this occasion Ministers from Singapore & Malaysia were also present.
