Perkasie, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/31/2014 -- A December 27, 2014 dog attack in Philadelphia, PA brought to the public's attention the issue of using lethal force to stop a PA dog attack. As reported on philly.com on 12/30/14, an unleashed Cane Corso attacked a Pekingese and its owner.

Witness Ryan Collerd told reporter William Bender that the Pekingese apparently suffered massive head and facial injuries. Its owner, an off-duty Philly police officer, fired multiple shots at the Cane Corso to stop the attack.
