Mock Trial Held at Davie Middle School

Miami, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/13/2015 -- Law students at a South Florida middle school gained hands-on experience in their new on-campus courtroom, Friday.

A mock Supreme Court trial was held for students in Nova Middle School's law studies program in Davie. Students learned the art of public speaking as they presented their case before the jury.

The program is funded by generous contributions from several donors, including 411-PAIN. "This goes above and beyond helping people with self-confidence, their civic duty, being a member of a jury and the whole courtroom setting," said 411-PAIN attorney Robert Lewin.

Now in its eighth year, the law studies program has served more than 2,000 students and future lawyers. Nova Middle is one of three Broward County schools with a full-time dedicated courtroom.
