Standish, MI -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/19/2015 -- Delivering Excellence newsletter reported a number of new food manufacturing plants opening this year due to a growing economy. Bel Brands USA opened a new $144 million, 170,000-sq.-ft. state-of-the-art facility in Brookings, SD. The Mini Babybel facility will employ nearly 250 people. Sabra Dipping Company opened a 118,000-sq.-ft. expansion in Chesterfield, VA. Skjodt-Barret Foods plans to expand its Lebanon, IN facility, investing almost $44 million to install new equipment and automation technologies. The company makes baby food and fruit purées. Mondelez International will build a $90 million biscuit plant in Bahrain. Santa Fe Brewing is expanding its Santa Fe, NM facility, creating 105 new jobs and increasing production capacity tenfold. Calbee, a snack food manufacturer, is renovating a former BMW distribution center in Senatobia, MS. The company plans to invest $51 million.
