San Jose, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/21/2015 -- San Jose, California-based moving service Fairprice Movers has pledged to donate a truck and the services of its staff to help the Max Cure Foundation, a charity which raises money to help the families of children who are battling cancer.
The Fairprice Movers truck will transport donated shoes from three Max Cure campaigns, which are taking place in early 2015, to their storage facility. The fundraising campaign, Dunk Your Kicks, collects the sneakers, which are then recycled and sold on as affordable footwear to developing nations. The Max Cure Foundation receives up to $1 per pair, which goes to its Roar Beyond Barriers program which provides financial support in the form of gift cards to low income and military families who have children fighting cancer.
The Max Cure Foundation fights childhood cancer on three fronts: in addition to its Roar Beyond Barriers program, the charity also helps to fund research into cures for various childhood cancers and to discover less toxic treatments as well as offering advocacy to increase government funding for childhood cancer research. The three donation events that Fairprice Movers are involved in take place on January 31 in San José, February 7 in Stockton, and February 28 in Sacramento.
