Michael Maglio Starts Kickstarter Campaign for His Upcoming Book Project "Before They Sailed: Mayflower DNA"

“Before They Sailed: Mayflower DNA” will be a book like no other that will answer a number of questions relating to the iconic journey of the Mayflower. The funding requirement for this project is $50,000.

Boston, MA -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/17/2015 -- The Mayflower was an English merchant ship dating back to the earlier part of the 17th century. This ship was used to transport the Pilgrims to America (the then New World) from Plymouth. The voyage of the Mayflower started in 1620 with 102 Pilgrims hoping to start a new life on the Atlantic's other side. After several delays, the ship reached the New World after spending two treacherous months at sea.

Migrations and invasions were common features of the English history. However, almost four centuries after the voyage of the Mayflower, many questions remain unanswered. There is little or no documented evidence that reveals the original identity of the pilgrims or where they came from. Similarly, it is impossible to find out whether their ancestors were the Anglo-Saxons, Normans or Vikings. Making use of traditional genealogy and DNA, Michael Maglio's new book will answer all these questions and more.

Michael believes that the DNA of the Mayflower descendants can confirm the genetic identity of each Pilgrim. This, in turn, will reveal detailed information on their past. "Before They Sailed: Mayflower DNA" will trace the genetic ancestry of all the Mayflower families. Apart from Mayflower ancestry the book will also discuss the basics of genetic genealogy.

Writing the book "Before They Sailed: Mayflower DNA" will involve a lot of research and generation of a tremendous amount of data and information. Based on all these work, Michael wants to produce his book in a digital format, a paperback edition and a limited Hardcover edition. There will also be a companion website containing all the behind the scenes details pertaining to the members.

Michael Maglio has recently launched a Kickstarter campaign with a funding goal of $50,000. Funds received from Kickstarter will pay for research, testing, editing, design, publishing, printing, shipping and travel. This project will only be funded if at least $50,000 is pledged by March 5, 2015.
