'Chili Cook-Off' at Renaissance Assisted Living to Benefit Charlottesville Area Walk to End Alzheimer's, Feb. 26

Stanardsville, VA -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/23/2015 -- Renaissance Assisted Living of Greene County will host a Chili Cook-Off on Thursday, Feb. 26, to benefit the Charlottesville area's "Walk to End Alzheimer's" later this year.

Residents of the Charlottesville, Harrisonburg and Culpeper, VA area are invited to enter their favorite chili. Each homemade recipe will be judged for best taste by a panel of judges from the Four Seasons Senior Community.

"Family events like this create wonderful opportunities for the surrounding community to gather together and show support for loved ones who are suffering from Alzheimer's and other memory disorders," says Denise Colbert, executive director of Renaissance Assisted Living and The Harbor at Renaissance. "We're expecting the great chili cooks from all over Charlottesville, Harrisonburg and Culpeper to turn out for this spectacular and delicious event. You won't want to miss it. Even some veteran chili cooks from the Renaissance Assisted Living family are gearing up their recipes."

The entry fee is $10 per chili recipe. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in the best taste category.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Walk to End Alzheimer's, sponsored each fall in Charlottesville by the Central and Western Virginia Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
