Over One-Half of Taxpayers File Taxes Themselves

San Francisco, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/25/2015 -- The way people can file taxes has been greatly affected by changing internet technologies. Today's younger generations are increasingly turning to the convenience of the internet to file their taxes as opposed to the traditional brick and mortar tax preparer's office.

"We wanted to know what people thought of file taxes and how their preferred method of filing," TheBestCompany's (TBC) Bryce Morgan said. "We were surprised by the results as the more than half of all respondents actually answered that they file their taxes on their own."

Respondents were asked the following question: "How do you file taxes?"

Our research showed that 51.3% file their taxes themselves, 29.2% have a tax preparation company help, and 19.5% of respondents did not file taxes.

Our findings indicate that the greatest percentage of those who file themselves are aged 35-44 while older age groups tended to rely more heavily upon a typical tax preparation company.
