Gold Canyon, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/20/2015 -- Mara-lee is a children's author who has written a new book entitled The Adventures of Cammy Lambie in The Place Of The Big Blue Sky.  This story details the adventures of a young ram and his brother as they learn about life and focuses on Biblical foundations for living a life of truth and purpose.  Now, Mara-lee has launched a Kickstarter campaign at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1606108376/the-adventures-of-cammy-lambie to raise funds for the publication of this book.

The Adventures of Cammy Lambie in The Place of The Big Blue Sky is great for first-time readers and promises to help parents teach their children life lessons as well as reading skills.  The 5.5" by 8.5" full-color 60-page book is self-illustrated with fresh, childlike pictures that will draw children into the story.  Better yet, the book teaches foundational truths about God and a believer's relationship to Him.  Throughout the story, Cammy experiences closeness with his brother and family, danger, discipline and restoration.  Two more books will follow to form a series. The book is formatted into chapters with large fonts, cream-colored backdrops and a vintage feel.  Each of the 25 illustrations is rendered in aqua pencil.

The format of the book is geared toward five- to ten-year-olds, allowing them to have a chapter book just like their parents or older siblings.  The setting is on a farm with the main characters:  Cammy and Sammy Lambie, Mother Ewe, Grammy Lambie, and Shepherd. The entire book covers the lamb's first day out of the barn and into The Place of the Big Blue Sky.

The idea driving the storyline of the book is to have five catechism questions and answers paired with their proof in scripture in a conversational format. References are added, but the whole verse is spoken out conversationally. These questions include:  Who is the first and best of beings?  What is God?  How do we know there is a God? How do we know the Bible is God's word?  What is my purpose and why am I here?

The font is geared toward easy reading, but the content never speaks down to a child. Solid truths and vocabulary are used throughout so children's minds are at work while their eyes are at rest.

Pledge levels range from $10 to $250 and include a variety of prizes from hand-written thank-you notes to canvas portrayals of the book's characters.  Any funds raised in excess of the original goal will allow the international backers to receive full awards shipped to them.
