War on the Rocks Looks to Raise $100,000 via Indiegogo to Expand Digital Platform on Military Issues and Foreign Policy

The core objective of this campaign is to expand the War on the Rocks platform, which utilizes the most experienced voices on strategy, defense, & foreign policy. The overall funding requirement of this campaign is $100,000.

Washington, DC -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/31/2015 -- War on the Rocks is a unique platform where multimedia content on foreign policy and national security issues are analyzed and debated in a realistic way. The platform features articles and podcasts contributed by current and former military personnel, former government officials, ex-intel analyst, and scholars that have served and/or worked in war zones. Because of this rich mine of experience, War on the Rocks stands apart from other similar media outlets.

War on the Rocks was launched in July 2013 by Ryan Evans and John Amble, who met each other on the battlefield in Afghanistan's restive Helmand Province. Since its launch, it has become the most serious and cutting-edge platform on defense and foreign policy. And they've done it all without taking a salary. In order to continue the growth of War on the Rocks, they have recently started an Indiegogo campaign to raise $100,000.

This funding will the following:

-A new website with more functionality and a cutting edge jobs board.
-Much more high-quality written and multi-media content
-Part-time staffing costs.

In exchange for supporting the campaign at Indiegogo, donors are offered prizes ranging from War on the Rocks whiskey tumblers to facing off against Admiral James Stavridis, former Supreme Allied Commander-Europe, in the boardgame Battleship.

Discussing the probable impact of this project, Ryan Evans says, "At the end of the day, the mission of War on the Rocks is to promote better strategic thinking. If we are to ask so much of the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines working at the tactical level, we should be able to expect more from our leaders making decisions at the summit of national policy."
