London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/24/2015 -- According to a recent study by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), the numbers of second and third year undergraduates who are shirking the more conventional house shares has more than doubled from 46,000 in 2007 to 102,000 in 2014.

The halls were originally created when university provided first year accommodation was becoming overfilled; however, Heriberto Cuanalo, director of upmarket student halls providers Collegiate AC, has revealed that on the number of students in their halls being second and third year students in 2015-2016 has seen a 40% increase from 2014-2015.
