Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/06/2015 -- When people imagine the life of a ninety year-old, they picture a comfortable chair in the corner of the room or the unfortunate reality of life in a care home. George L. Billingsley is well past the age of ninety but – as his new memoir proves with gusto - he is literally running away from the stereotypes as fast as he can.

'Cage the Grim Reaper' is his compelling story of good health in later life, as told to and compiled by Darlien C. Breeze.

Synopsis:

This is the inspiring memoir of a ninety plus year old man who had both knees and a hip replaced and went on to run, and win in his age category, a ten K race. He said, "It was easy. I was the only ninety year old in the race." Cage the Grim Reaper tells of George Billingsley's grit and determination. George relates his philosophy of life and how he came by his beliefs. He gives his sage advice with a little tongue in cheek humor.

"George is my uncle; a remarkable man who started running at the age of forty-nine and hasn't stopped since," explains Breeze. "It's truly unbelievable that he would not only continue to run into his nineties – but enter an official marathon and come first in his category."

Continuing, "It's all down to his unique dedicated to total good health; a fusion of physical activity and diet that hasn't forced him to slow down like the everyman. By sharing his story, we hope to provide people of all ages with some rare insights on how to live such a healthy life, while having a whole load of fun in the process. Everyone has the ability to be like my uncle George, and our new book exposes how."

Breeze hopes the volume quashes many common misconceptions about growing old.

"The old adage is true – it's not the years in your life, but the life in your years. Most grow old and resign themselves to closing the book on physical activity and youth-like good health. There's an alternative – and it's all laid out here," she adds.

With demand for the book set to increase, interested readers are urged to purchase their copies without delay.
