Wichita, KS -- (ReleaseWire) -- 05/14/2015 --Hundreds of people from the Pittsburg State University campus and the surrounding community gathered Tuesday, April 21, to officially open the new Robert W. Plaster Center, complete with a brand new, high-definition LED sign from NextLED.
Headquartered in Wichita, Kan., NextLED constructed the 29 by 16 foot HD video display, which was mounted on the east end of the building. The sign has been linked to six remote broadcast quality camera stations that will offer spectators and competitors the perfect angle for every event.
"This new sign was the icing on the cake," said Brad Wells, assistant athletic director at Pittsburg State. "It really helps bring the whole center together and adds that wow factor for future guests."
The new Plaster Center 10mm SMD LED display includes a 480 x 864 pixel matrix that will be on full display when Pittsburg State hosts the 2016 and 2018 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Indoor Track Championships.
One of the highest definition sporting screens in Kansas, the display showcases clear, dynamic messages, animation, art and video in a vivid, true-to-life fashion.
"NextLED did an incredible job," said Jim Johnson, athletic director at Pittsburg State. "They listened to our needs and developed the product to meet those needs. What more could we ask for?"
In addition to the LED display, NextLED also provided Pittsburg State with the necessary MotionRocket™ software platform, a four-foot tall custom header, as well as project management and installation.
We bring Midwest values and a common sense approach to high-quality LED display sales and services. Our team is capable of providing technological and back-office support, content management, ad management and creation, and if needed, can even sell the media for the display owner.
