Bar Nunn, WY -- (ReleaseWire) -- 07/30/2014 -- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder hits the news every day, usually told through stories of service people returning from conflict and being forced to adapt back to ‘real life’. However, author Faith is working diligently to help people both recognize and treat the wider scope of this debilitating mental strain.
In her powerful new novel, ‘Rescuing The Damaged One’, Faith depicts the struggles of PTSD brought on from early childhood abuse. Melding this exposé’ with a dramatic tale of love, Faith simultaneously reaches out to thousands of sufferers who feel as if they have to place to turn to.
Bella Ramsey is a college student in her last year. She has made her life revolve around school, work, and studying. She is a survivor of childhood abuse; she doesn't see it that way. Bella believes she is damaged and unworthy of being loved. That is until...
Blake Grant is a business owner. He is very successful; he wants Bella as his assistant and more. Blake is ready for the challenge to make her understand she is worth everything to him.
Bella's past walks back into her life. It threatens her relationship, her life, and the lives of ones that she loves. She must kill or be killed. If not all will be lost for everyone.
“While it may sound impossible to those thick with despair, it is possible to triumph over PTSD and prosper in life and love,” explains Faith. “It’s a two-fold challenge to overcome the disorder and the trauma that is its underlying cause, but excellent support is available in this day and age.”
Continuing, “Bella is a great example of this; forced to reface her demons and love at the same juncture. She chooses the right path, embraces the solace afforded to her and becomes a strong and level-headed adult. Any reader can do the same.”
Since its release, the book has garnered a string of rave reviews. For example, one reader comments, “If I could I would give this book more than 5 stars! The way she pulls you into this book makes you want to laugh, scream, cry and hate some of the characters! I couldn't put the book down once I started to read it, the main character shows a strength that many would never have. The fact that she fights her PTSD is another statement about not only the character but the author!”
Kitty adds, “Faith you had me from the first sentence. I started it this morning and finished it today. I can't wait to see what happens to Bella and her family. You are a great writer.”
Rick Johnson writes, “Faith takes you on an emotional roller-coaster ride that leaves you gasping for breath and begging for more. Faith has taken readers to new heights in this novel, which will touch the soul of the most hardened person. It's a read and a ride beyond belief.”

In her own words, “I have been an author for over 13 years. I write under several names, I can’t have people buying my children’s books under the same as my adult books are under. Most of my children’s book go to charities. I do public speaking on Autism awareness, breast cancer awareness, and PTSD/mental health disorders. I have two fabulous princesses and they will tell you that. On certain holidays we help out for a few hours at the soup kitchens. It is important to me that my girls appreciate what they have and realize some children have nothing. I want them to ‘pay it forward’ when they get older.”
