“A recent article in The Weekly Standard reported that United States’ debt is greater than the debt of the entire Eurozone and the UK combined,” begins Tubbergen. “The total debt level in the United States is greater and the burden is spread over fewer people.”

According to the accompanying chart, European debt stands at $12.7 trillion while America’s debt has soared to $15.1 trillion.

“As I discuss in the Discovery Groups that I conduct, total debt in the United States is now almost $50,000 per citizen and almost $138,000 per taxpayer,” notes Tubbergen. “This election season, this should be the number one issue, but, from my perspective, it’s not.”
