Research Triangle Park, NC -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/29/2011 -- The Chinese American Biosciences Association in North Carolina (http://www.CABA-NC.org) and The North Carolina China Center (http://www.ncchinacenter.org/), housed at the World Trade Park in the headquarters building of Longistics (http://www.longistics.com), have announced that they will host a morning summit for members of the China Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA) delegation along with area business leaders on Monday, June 27, to promote business and technology development and collaboration between North Carolina and China. CIPA is a division of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce that organizes and promotes inbound and outbound foreign investment. CIPA Deputy Director Yu Hua will lead the 13-member delegation and provide opening remarks, while N.C. State Treasurer Janet Cowell will provide welcoming remarks for the summit.

The delegation will hear presentations from representatives of the North Carolina China Center, the N.C. Department of Commerce, The Hamner Institutes for Health Sciences, Research Triangle Foundation and the Chinese American Biosciences Association in North Carolina. CIPA delegate Lin Shixi, chairman of Singapore BT Global Venture Accelerator Management Pte Ltd., will discuss “The China-Singapore Platform for Innovation and Investment,” as well. The three-hour summit will conclude with a signing ceremony at 11:30 a.m.

The CIPA visit will culminate in the afternoon with Longistics hosting the North Carolina China Center Hall of Fame Golf Open for delegates at Brier Creek Country Club. All proceeds of the nine-hole golf tournament will support the efforts of the nonprofit North Carolina China Center.
