Soft Drinks Packaging in Taiwan - New Market Research Report

New Beverages market report from Euromonitor International: "Soft Drinks Packaging in Taiwan"

Boston, MA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/19/2014 -- During mid-2011, the food scandal in Taiwan over the use of DEHP plasticisers significantly slowed down overall soft drinks growth. As locally-manufactured fruit/vegetable juice and sports drinks were reported to contain plasticiser, these were the two hardest hit categories, with their unit volume sales declining sharply in 2011. However, other soft drinks like bottled water, RTD tea and carbonated drinks have risen slightly to compensate for the negative growth of the affected drinks as consumers switched to other soft drinks to substitute the affected soft drinks. Liquid cartons and metal cans, which are the two largest pack types used to package fruit/vegetable juice and sports drinks, declined sharply in unit volume terms for these drinks types.

Industry Prospects:

Soft drinks is nearing maturity in Taiwan and, as such, only limited volume sales growth is expected. Some categories, including Asia speciality drinks and RTD tea, are expected to see higher-than-average growth during the forecast period.
