Tal Skloot Looks to Raise $6,000 via Kickstarter for His Upcoming Film: 4 Wheel Bob

El Cerrito, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/24/2014 -- Bob has hiked more than 100 parks in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2007, Bob was inducted into the California Outdoors Hall of Fame and in 2010; he was given the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports Community Leadership Award. As a board member of the advisory committee of the East Bay Regional Park District, Bob aims to motivate, educate and inspire the public to discover California’s great outdoors.

Experiencing nature and the outdoors can be quite therapeutic for the disabled, who often suffer from depression. Bob suffers from debilitating osteoporosis and after a severe period of depression, it was Bob’s determination and his motto of "no excuses" that led to an obsession with wheelchair hiking as a way to gain his health back.

Bob hopes his example will inspire wheelchair-bound children, war veterans and shut-ins with disabilities to push themselves into the vast, beautiful world that awaits them. "I always hope that people will see me and decide that they are doing too little with their lives. It would be great if more people would test their limits ... and it would be nice to share this with people. It's an awful lot of fun."

The East Bay Community Foundation has awarded the documentary a $6,000 matching grant. Every dollar donated will be matched dollar for dollar up to $6,000. This support will help hire a camera crew to complete the filming of Bob’s seven-day Sierra crossing this summer.

This project will only be funded if at least $6,000 is pledged by Sat, Jul 12 2014 1:09 AM +05:30.
