“Nobody’s past defines who they are – God is always able to take their pain and turn it into purpose. All they have to do is accept him into their lives,” says Copelin, who travels the country speaking to groups from all walks of life.

Continuing, “From such a young age I dreamed of being an inspirational speaker and author, but my life at the time made those prospects next to impossible. I felt that leaving the pain behind was too complicated – but all it took was a conscious decision to give my life to God. Look at where I am now! Anyone can achieve the same and my book will show them how.”

About Daisy Copelin
Daisy Copelin discovered she had the God given ability to write poetry as early as 14 years of age. She entered a poetry contest featured by Montel Williams with her first piece entitled Freedom was needed back in 1850. She won the opportunity to have her poem published as well as the opportunity to go to Washington D.C. to a banquet hosted by Montel Williams. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond her control she wasn t able to attend but believed that God was given her a glimpse of her destiny and greatness at an early age. She didn t allow that to deter her but continued writing. Her second year of college she was exposed to the art of spoken word poetry through a poetry slam contest and fell in love with the art of spoken word poetry.

April 6th 2008 she gave her life over to Christ and three years later served as founder and president of the Got Poetry? Slam Club at Nyack College for two years, where she organized events to bring about greater exposure to the art. Little did she know through the club that God was going to open up doors at various churches ministering to the youth through the art of spoken word poetry. She has had the humbling experience of performing at churches all across the NYC area and believes that spoken word poetry is one of the vehicles that God is using in this hour to reach the hearts of the youth.
