New York, NY -- (ReleaseWire) -- 09/06/2012 -- As the calendar moves to September, kids are returning to school and toy companies are releasing the toys they hope will be hits for the 2012 holiday season. To help parents navigate the confusing world of toys, DadDoes.Com, a leading dad blog, is increasing the scope of its real world toy reviews.
Over the past few weeks, Dad Does has reviewed a number of new toys from Mattel, Hasbro and Air Hogs that all have the chance to be big winners come this Christmas season. To determine the play value of each toy, Dad Does performs real world testing with each toy and documents it via video and written review.
Here is a run down of some of the most recent toy reviews done by DadDoes.Com –
Review: Air Hogs RC Heli Replay
New for 2012 is the Air Hogs RC Heli Replay. This remote controlled helicopter can be controlled via the included remote or with a free app for iOS and Android devices. In their hands-on review, Dad Does found that the Gyro stability technology was very helpful in creating a smooth and easy flying experience. Interestingly, Dad Does was less impressed with the replay function of the helicopter, but still highly recommends the toy base on its stability and easy maneuverability.
Review: Hot Wheels RC Terrain Twister
Mattel is bringing back the Terrain Twister RC car, this time under the Hot Wheels brand. The car can drive through any terrain – mud, dirt, snow, water and grass. Dad Does found that kids greatly enjoyed the power of the Terrain Twister, but the long time to recharge the batteries (at least 4 hours) could be a major negative for some families.
Review: JT Splatmaster z200 Shotgun
Dad Does is very quick to point out that the JT Splatmaster z200 Shotgun is not a toy. The mini paintball blaster is a outdoor sporting good product that should be used with adult supervision. Dad Does reports that if parents are looking for a way to introduce younger kids into paintball, the JT Splatmaster line is an excellent choice. No batteries or CO2 are necessary and the gun is easy to operate. In addition, parents will appreciate that the pain easily wipes off with water and does not stain.
Dad Does will continue to review new toys as they are released. One of the trends for 2012 is the increase in technology in RC toys.
“RC Toys continue to evolve and get more sophisticated. We are seeing great things from Air Hogs and Hot Wheels, but we are also seeing some new companies get into the remote control toy business” states Dan Nessel of DadDoes.Com .
