Trick Daddy, the Black Mob Group and Rakontur Team Up with ESPN for 30 for 30 the U Part 2 Theme Song, "U Already Know"

New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/19/2014 -- Throughout the 1980s, Miami, Fla., was at the center of a racial and cultural shift taking place throughout the country. Overwhelmed by riots and tensions, Miami was a city influx, and the University of Miami football team served as a microcosm for this evolution. The image of the predominantly white university was forever changed when Coach Howard Schnellenberger scoured some of the toughest ghettos in Florida to recruit mostly black players for his team. With a newly branded swagger, inspired and fueled by the quickly growing local Miami hip-hop culture, these Hurricanes took on larger-than-life personalities and won four national titles between 1983 and 1991. Filmmaker Billy Corben,( Cocaine Cowboys, The Tanning of America) a Miami native and University of Miami alum, will tell the story of how these "Bad Boys" of football changed the attitude of the game they played, and how this serene campus was transformed into "The U."

Produced in 2009 by ESPN for its "30 for 30" series, "The U" was a look at all that was good and bad about the rise of the University of Miami's football program in the 1980s. But that wasn't the end of the story. "The U Part 2" picks up where the original film left off, with the program trying to recover from the devastation left by NCAA sanctions and scandals that had some calling for the school to drop football. The Hurricanes rose from those ashes to win another national championship, only to face new controversies when a booster used a Ponzi scheme to win favor with the program.

The opening theme music for the U Part 2 to be released on 12-13-14 directly after the Heisman Trophy (Time slot 9pm) is performed by Trick Daddy. Commissioned by Ernest Foxx, Associate Music Supervisor of the film, Miami's favorite son delivers a powerful ode to his favorite college football team. This new anthem is a recording specially made for The U Part 2 and is available on ITunes, Google Play, and Spotify

ESPN will be doing a live feed during the airing via social media as well as the director to have real time interactions between viewers and the Network. The first 30 for 30 Documentary, titled The U, viewed at the same time slot in sequence of the Heisman Trophy with an audience of nearly 3 million people.
