Ultriva Lean Manufacturing Suite Suited for Large Recreational Boat Manufacturer

Cupertino, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/18/2014 -- Ultriva, Inc. announced the deployment of the Lean Manufacturing Suite with one of the largest manufacturer of recreational boats in the world. Soon, suppliers will be added using Ultriva’s Collaborative Supplier Portal to allow full visibility and collaboration between suppliers and buyers.

Laws that affect manufacturing, employments, labor issues, and small businesses are of particular interest to the recreation boating industry. Issues like workplace safety, labor policy, workforce development and, health care affect the boating business day-to day. The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) believes that U.S. employment and labor laws should promote domestic job creation within the global economy. The NMMA works with partners and agencies like the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) when appropriate.

Known as a pioneer in Kanban solutions, Ultriva CEO Narayan Laksham and the team of technology solutions professionals at the Cupertino-based firm are strongly advocating that the Lean Manufacturing Suite for the boating industry producers and suppliers integrate with the demand side to streamline the supply chain. Laksham expanded, “This is clearly a paradigm shift compared to the constant focus on improving the planning or forecasts using better and superior algorithms. The primary goal of the process is to schedule manufacturing production based on customer demand instead of forecasts while raw materials and components usage at the manufacturing facilities should drive replenishment to the upstream supply chain. This is also known as consumption driven replenishment or electronic Kanban loops.”
