According to the organization, one in six children in the United States faces hunger on a daily basis. By teaming up with No Kid Hungry, the employees at Yellow Dot Heating, Air Conditioning, and Electric intend to help bring much-needed meals into the lives of hungry children across the country.

More than 13 million children in the United States live in food-insecure homes, meaning they do not regularly have enough food to eat. No Kid Hungry is a nonprofit organization that raises money and helps provide meals to these children. By supporting school-related food programs such as school breakfast and after-school meals, No Kid Hungry helps children get the nutrition they need to stay focused and perform better in school.

For many children in low-income areas, school lunches are the only meal they receive in a day, which becomes more problematic during summer months when they lose access to school-provided meals. This realization is part of what prompted Yellow Dot Heating, Air Conditioning, and Electric to intervene. In conjunction with No Kid Hungry, a portion of the funds raised will go to the Summer Meals program, which gives kids access to meals in the summertime.
