Young Australian Designer Kristian Aus Seeks Funding via Kickstarter for the Launch of 'Ziggy'

The Ziggy hook is a strong, modular coat hook that lets users create functional patterns on their walls.

Sydney, Australia -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/01/2014 -- Ziggy is a project that is very close to Kristian Aus’ heart. For a few years now, he has been designing and producing products through his design consultancy Autumn and his brand UNDER.

All of these products have been made in small batches and sold at a price that reflected that.  Kristian wanted to create a new product for the home that was inexpensive and multi-functional.

Kickstarter recently allowed for projects to be submitted from Australia. This has opened up more opportunities for designers like Kristian to reach people from all over the world. The crowdfunding platform provides a way for independent designers to easily present their work and provide backers with an economical path to buy well designed products.

Ziggy is made from folded steel, with a powder-coat finish.  It's designed to be super strong by itself and allow multiples to be used together to create a short or long run coat rack.  They can be arranged in straight lines or in crazy patterns. Ziggys can even be offset to get twice the hooks into tight spaces.

Ziggy lets users hook things through it, hang things on it and even rest small objects on top.  Ziggy is great in any room of the house and lets users add a touch of design to the smallest of spaces.

Each Ziggy hook is mounted with 2 or 4 screws, so it can take almost anything you can hang on it.  Ziggy is powder-coated to soften its edges and provide a durable, hard wearing finish. This helps to protect knits and delicate fabrics. Ziggy is very easy to install. Each hook comes with a template that allows for accurate screw positions and provides an easy way to line up multiple hooks for a perfect unique pattern.

Kristian has launched this Kickstarter campaign to be able to produce enough volume of the hook to make it cost effective for anyone to buy.  He is a big believer in the idea that design should be democratic and accessible.

This project will only be funded if at least $10,000 is pledged by Sat, Apr 19 2014 3:19 AM +05:30.
