Could resveratrol from muscadine grapes help you live longer?

The aim of this study was to see if mice fed a high calorie diet could increase their lifespan by supplementing resveratrol into their meals and change their physiology to that of mice fed a normal diet.
The results showed that the resveratrol-enriched genes reversed the effects of the high calorie diet in 144 out of 153 altered pathways and points to new treatments for obesity-related disorders and age related diseases like diabetes.
Other studies have successfully identified resveratrol as being positive at preventing Impaired Glucose Tolerance, a pre-cursor to type 2 diabetes, and also at improving cognitive function, leading to calls for more research into Alzheimers prevention.
Mary Green, spokesperson for muscadine resveratrol manufacturer, Muscadinex, commented: “Once again we are being shown another facet of mother nature’s healing potential. With so much untapped potential out there we are being shown daily new and exciting ways of keeping ourselves healthy and fending off the dangers associated with aging. At Muscadinex we believe in synergystic blending and that is why we only use the seed of the muscadine grape as we know that this has a synergistic blend of resveratrol, ellagic acid and quercetin, naturally designed to work in unison at promoting a healthier lifestyle.”
Muscadinex contains the polyphenols and bio-flavonoids that scientists are saying can help people to enjoy a longer and healthier life, and may even help to avoid illnesses like cancer, diabetes and heart disease.
And because muscadine grapes contain extra chromosomes, it results in a wider variety of molecules like polyphenols and flavonoids which are powerful antioxidants. This means they stabilise the free radicals which can damage your DNA and potentially start many types of disease.
The Muscadinex spokesperson continued: “We want you to have the best, so Muscadinex is made only from the seeds. It’s a more expensive process as each muscadine grape only has three or four seeds … but we think it’s worth it to give you a better health supplement. We are also giving away a free bottle of Vitamin D3 with every purchase as almost every American is deficient in this vitamin. This is our gift to you.”
