Ultimo, NSW, November 19, 2012 — Backlinking’s proliferation in internet have online businesses and interests concerned over the effect of “negative SEO” (spam and unwanted sites that pull down their ranking), to which, Google recently announced to have come up with a corrective tool.

Google’s “disavow tool” was touted to remove backlinks from unwanted sites. With the tool, one has to 1.) know the domains that are backlinked to theirs, 2.) recognize which ones they want to disavow, and 3.) request Google for the removal action. Normally, Google is able to perform the action after a few days.

Regarding this, Egor Pervuninski, CEO of SEO Blasts, issued a statement on their website as to the tool’s usefulness.

“Link disavow tool is a proposed solution for the problem latest Google filters created,” began Pervuninski, a webmaster from NSW’s Ural State University. “What essentially happened is, Google introduced the negative link juice — the links that can negatively affect your ranking.”

According to Pervuninski, Google is in effect telling “webmasters that these ‘bad’ links are their own problem” and that they will “have to go and remove all “bad” links themselves.”

Pervuninski also discussed why Google’s disavow tool will not solve the problem of negative SEO, citing the capacity of the tool as against the immensity of the issue and the speed by which Google can counter fresh backlinks while removing current requests.

“The real solution is to deindex and discount these links algorithmically which looks like something Google is not capable of now,” added Pervuninski.
