I was looking to the doctors and counselors for help. Since different stroke survivors recover differently they wouldn’t tell me how to recover more quickly and more fully. I was on my own. It took years. Finally my recovery did happen.

Now I want to help other stroke survivors learn what is coming next. I want to tell them my story so they can apply it to them. No two recoveries are the same, but it is important to give stroke survivors a road map of sorts. Give them help setting goals and recovering.
